I’ve been a trucker for nearly 30 years without a recordable accident, and believe me when I say that this is no stroke of luck! While I will admit that some of the people being unleashed on society from trucking schools leave a lot to be desired, that does not give anyone the right to bundle us together and judge us collectively.
I refuse to be stereotyped in this manner.
It has been my experience that it was the “innocent” motorist who caused the accident in the first place! Law firms need to be cautious about the message that seem to be trending. People are being led to believe that no matter whose fault the accident was, “We’ll get you paid!”
You can legislate and regulate truckers to death, things are still going to happen! Before long, it’s going to be to the point that we will not be able to effectively do our job for fear of what new mandate we might be breaking.
Today, truckers have electronic logs, “black boxes”, trackers on trailers, and even cameras to help keep things in line. Who then monitors the “innocent” motorist?
