Gone are the days when an older driver, and in most cases an owner/operater would take a young prospective driver under his wing and teach him/her all aspects of the business.
Now there are trucking schools springing up everywhere.this is why as a novice, it is important to choose your place to train wisely. Research the school thoroughly, making sure that it is accredited. Find and speak to graduates of the school to see how well their training has aided them in their driving profession.
Beware of upstarts with only a couple of trucks and makeshift building with a sign that may or may not be grammatically correct, such as “Big Wheels Truck Driving Acadmey”. Remember, it takes time to learn this business, and you want to get off to the best start possible.
