Typically, most lease purchase programs are not designed to help the driver succeed. There’s the the initial down payment, then there will be the truck payments which are usually made weekly. You’ll have to have insurance of various types, and other deductions such as plates and permits, all of which will be paid weekly!
Actually, in order to get this truck paid for, the driver won’t be spending much time at home, while hoping that nothing major happens to the truck mechanically. Call it Karma, but most of things that go wrong with the truck won’t be under warranty.
Picture this. You lease purchase a truck that lists for 70,000 dollars. You’re going to do a 4 year lease. If you survive the lease, you will have paid well over 100,000 dollars. In many cases there will be a balloon payment which could be as much as 14,000 dollars for a truck which has depreciated to less than 30,000 dollars. I’m just saying THINK about it.
